Our first walking tour of the Staunton’s Neighborhood Brown Bag Series looks at the patterning of streets, sidewalks, types of buildings, and their scale and placement in the formerly independent community of Plunkettville.
Annexed in 1948, the spine of Plunkettville stretches along West Beverley Street, near the intersection with Morris Mill Road, extending to the north, south, east, and west. We will focus on West Beverley Street, looking at existing clusters of commercial and residential buildings. Gathering at the intersection of Plunkett and South Waverley Streets, we will cross to the north side of West Beverley, walk to the vicinity of Cherry Street and thread through the residential neighborhood on the north side of Beverley, returning to our starting point.
We hope you can join us for a walk through the formerly independent community of Plunkettville!
Free and open to the public.
